How to Have the Perfect Football Weekend
September 16, 2013 § 1 Comment
This past weekend I was lucky enough to be able to spend two days in College Station for the Texas A&M vs. Alabama game! (if you don’t know anything about Texas A&M or the SEC…this was HUGE.) The way-too-pricey tickets were well worth it and the game was phenomenal. Despite losing, the Aggies played a great game and it was a ton of fun! While still reeling from the “weekend football hangover” and in the spirit of Aggie football, I thought I’d compile the perfect step by step recipe to having the best football weekend!
Start off your morning right – with plenty of alchy! My personal tailgating favorite always includes champs. (Note: pronounced “sh-amps” aka champagne) Whether in the form of a mimosa or just straight, bubbly is my all time favorite drink of choice while tailgating. No matter your drink of preference – the first rule of having the perfect football weekend is to get feelin nice and good to enjoy the game! (Disclaimer: the male with the “bag o’ beer” may or may not be my boyfriend. I’m too embarrassed to properly claim him as so.)
2. Show Your Team Pride
Display your team pride in various forms. Sport your team colors. Paint your face. Wear a jersey (refer to cute pup, Zoe, below). Tweet about it. #GigEm #BTHOBama Facebook about it. Snapchat all your friends obnoxious team spirited pictures. Strike a pose… ahem Johnny Football/Heisman Trophy Winner
3. Stay Hydrated
Okay, this one is super important folks. The game this weekend had record high temperatures, and when in the stands for long periods of time it is vital to get plenty of fluids. You’ll be sweating more than you thought was possible in a lifetime, so to prevent from passing out, drink up. Bring lots of water! Seriously, or else you’ll end up looking like this…
4. Root for Your Team!
Show your team spirit by cheering, screaming, and rooting for your team until your voice is completely gone. Keep up your adrenaline, jump up and down and smooch your date when you score, and yell as loud as possible. (I mean, this is football right?!) I hate when fans get discouraged or even “boo” when their team isn’t doing so well. Stay positive and show your spirit throughout the game! Even though we lost this weekend, we showed our Aggie pride through and through.
